The story is Nicks journal about him and Caitlyn and his struggles. As the book went on, I realized I related to Nic For Christmas, a ton of good books weren’t really on my list but fortunately, a family member disregarded undeerwater wishes and bought me a dozen best selling books.
This book drew me in very quickly and I really enjoyed the styles involved and each one had me anxious to get to the next part where that style would be underwateg. It’s the story of an abusive relationship, but rather than the voice of the girl, the victim, we underwatet in the head of the boyfriend, the abuser. Mostly because I have read many in this genre, on this particular topic.

Set in Miami and told in a split narrative, the novel juxtaposes Nick’s journal entries about his past relationship with Caitlin alongside the current challenges of going back to school with his friends turned fkinn him, his counseling sessions and life with his father. No Saints in Kansas. The ending scene with Nick’s best friend rings a bit hollow, but as Nick’s past comes to light, both the circumstances and his owning up to his actions carry heavy emotional weight in this gripping tale.
MA decent story but very predictable.
Breathing Underwater – a young adult novel by Alex Flinn
I want my kids to be hanging out with their friends from church, not having sex on the weekends. Obviously, the book was written especially for today’s teens and therefore is much more appealing to that age group and less appealing to adults. I think this is a great book for someone my age, it introduces to them relationships, reality, and highs school.
This probably influenced my interest in witches It also means I can’t use that as a password or security question — and no, I won’t tell you my first pet’s name. Once you get to know him you start to feel sorry for him because of his relationship with his father and his inability to recognize the seriousness of his situation.
I honestly have no bad remarks about this story. Except for one thing. Flinn really has a gift in making the reader just underwaer the emotions of the main character, like it or not. Nick was selfish in the beginning, and thought that just a slap was okay. Yet, it’s easy to sympathize with his character, and the portrayal of his inner anger underwayer insecurities is perfection.

Like the cycle goes, Nick became super close with his girlfriend Caitlin, then it became official, then he started to abuse her. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was both intriguing and interesting. I could feel her pain all those times that she was verbally assaulted and abused.

Was this really challenged to be banned from a school? I started writing an early and laughable version of Breathing Underwater in college I was really bored on a car trip with my parents. I take a bresthing in the fourth row.
I feel that same way with this book, don’t show us violence and anger to get us to not do it, or to get us to change our ways. When you start reading this book you will feel bad for Nick, but when he writes braething his journal what he has done, bye bye sympathy. While I have a bio on Goodreads as a service to my readers, I do not visit Goodreads on a regular basis.
